The Only Thing You Can Do On A Dreary Winter Day. . .

Get together with your friends and work on your current quilt project! So that's what we did today. Drin is holding up the center part of our current project--she just couldn't stand it, so she's quite a bit ahead of the rest of us. It's a bed-size quilt so there are still several rounds beyond what is shown here. It's going to be a beauty. This picture is BB------Before Bangs. . . .
This is a sample of the quilt each one of us made for the wounded soldiers at Landstuhl Hospital in Germany. I head to Germany next week to visit Katie and then on to Sheila's, so will take these four quilts with me and then take them down to Landstuhl to present them. Hoping I will be able to personally present them. We'll see. This quilt is Drin's--should be perfect for a soldier. They're all made of flannel, so very warm and snuggly--a warm reminder of home and Americans thinking and caring about them.
This is a quilt top Ellen made for Jeannie Edblad. It's a bed-size quilt and is perfect for a spring bed. The colors are lovely. Jeannie should really enjoy it.
And of course, our project days are not complete without lunch. We take turns providing lunch, but I get to do all the table settings! That's what I love to do. I say sometimes that the reason I entertain is so I can set a table! Love it. This was lunch today. Drin brought a scrumptious homemade tomato soup that was perfect in these yellow bowls. And then it was back to work. We finally decided not to include dessert as then we mostly just want to find a corner and curl up and take a nap! More next week as we continue work on our projects.
